Shivaji University in Kolhapur
Mumbai: A state-wide movement has been launched in Kolhapur to rename the Shivaji University as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University bearing the full name of the iconic Maratha warrior-king, who had laid the foundation of the Hindavi-swarajya.
At the Provincial Hindu Rashtra Convention, organized by Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti, which saw the participation of over 200 representatives from more than 50 Hindu organizations, a strong resolution was passed for renaming the university.
“Kolhapur University continues to bear the incomplete name ‘Shivaji University’ instead of the more respectful ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University’,” it said.
The event was attended by Hindutva activist Sambhaji Bhide Guruji, the founder of Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan.
The event saw participation from activists from Sangli and Kolhapur in Maharashtra and Belagavi in Karnataka.
The key speakers included Sadguru Swati Khadye, Sanatan Sanstha, Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Anandsiddh Maharaj, H B P Vitthaltatya Patil, Anandrao Pawal, Kolhapur Coordinator, Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti, Sunil Ghanwat, National Organizer, Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti and Maharashtra State Coordinator, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
Representatives from Hindu Ekta Andolan, Hindu Mahasabha, Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan, Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, Shri Ram Sena, Sanatan Sanstha, and Warkari Sampraday were present.
