Navi Mumbai: In a record of sorts in the infrastructure sector, a multi-level car parking facility of a housing project in Kharkopar in the satellite township of Navi Mumbai has been completed in just 42 days.

The project was undertaken by the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd (CIDCO).
The project was titled ‘Mission-45’.
The building comprises Ground + 6 floors, with the six upper floors allocated for car parking and the ground floor designated as a community center. The total built-area of the parking facility is 1.43 lakhs sq ft, designed to accommodate 365 four-wheelers.

As a part of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), CIDCO has undertaken the construction of 67,000 tenements of mass housing scheme. Under this scheme, construction is progressing rapidly across various nodes in Navi Mumbai, and the residential units are being made available in phases. The multi-level car parking facility has been constructed under package -4 of this affordable housing scheme at Plot No 3 in Kharkopar.
The construction commenced on March 4, 2025, and was completed on April 17, 2025, three days ahead of schedule, accomplishing the entire project in just 42 days.
Traditionally, such construction requires a period of six months; thus approximately four and a half months has been achieved.
“This feat was made possible by the use of advanced and globally recognized precast technology. A total number of 2212 precast components were utilised. The building is an RCC Structure constructed from plinth to terrace, CIDCO officials said on Monday.
