Mumbai: Former President Pranab Mukherjee and former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and P V Narasimha Rao has went through humiliation at hands of the Congress and dynasty leaders, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said launching a scathing attack on Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and his mother and former UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
“As India mourns the loss of a great economist and statesman, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji, what pained me is the dirty politics by Congress party even during someone’s death,” Fadnavis said in light of the developments in New Delhi.
“In the past we have seen many insults of such tall leaders just because they were not from Gandhi dynasty. We have seen occasions when our PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji got insulted by the Pakistani Prime Minister, but the Congress party never came forward in his support,” he said.
“Even his disqualification ordinance was torn apart by Rahul Gandhi. There were many occasions when Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi insulted Dr Manmohan Singh ji,” the senior BJP leader said.
Fadnavis said: “Not only Dr Manmohan Singh ji, but late P V Narasimha Rao ji, late President Pranab da Mukherjee also went through this kind of humiliation by their own party and dynasty leaders. Even PV Narsimha Rao ji’s body was not allowed in AICC headquarters…All these incidents just keep reminding us how dynastic politics is dangerous for democracy and for preserving the essence of the Constitution,” he said.
