Mumbai: Days after moving the Bombay High Court, the family of Bollywood celebrity and talent manager Disha Salian on Tuesday sought fresh investigations into her death describing it as a “gangrape-murder” and subsequent “cover-up” accusing the Thackeray father-son duo.

Disha Salian (28) died on 8 June, 2020, after a fall from the 14th floor of an Galaxy Regent building at Malad just six days before Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput (34) died by suicide at his rented duplex flat in Mont Blanc building at Bandra.

Several BJP leaders had been claiming that both the cases are murders and are linked to each other.

Last week, the CBI filed a closure report involving the case of Sushant.

Taking the issue further, Disha's father Satish Salian and his lawyer Nilesh Ojha visited the Mumbai Police headquarters at Crawford Market and filed the complaint.

“The accused are (former minister and MLA) Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, Suraj Pancholi and his bodyguard, (then Mumbai Police Commissioner) Param Bir Singh, (dismissed police official) Sachin Waze and (Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend) Rhea Chakraborty,” Ohja said.

He described Aaditya as the main accused of the “gangrape-murder” while Singh as the person ensured the “cover-up” at the instance of Uddhav Thackeray, who was the then chief minister, who “misused power”.

“We submitted a written complaint, which is an FIR, to Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Lakhmi Gautam who spoke to Commissioner (Vivek Phansalkar) after which the complaint was accepted,” said Ojha, adding that they have already moved the high court and the police would have to present its version.

Asked about the FIR, Ojha said: “This submission has been made in strict compliance with the legal procedure laid down by the Bombay High Court in the case of Sudhir M. Vora vs Commissioner of Police for Greater Bombay, 2004, wherein it was held that when police officers themselves are among the accused, a written complaint must be submitted directly to the Commissioner of Police, and such complaint has to be treated as an FIR by the Police and its investigation should be transferred to independent agency.”

“Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea are involved in drug trade. There's a big nexus and there are many things that led to Disha's murder, so we've given all the information  in the FIR,” he said.

“All details are in the FIR... NCB's investigation paper proves that Aaditya Thackeray was involved in a drug business, that detail has been mentioned in this FIR," Ohja told reporters.
