Mumbai: Businessman and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani will share stage with NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar and other members of the Pawar-family in their bastion Baramati in Pune district on Sunday.
The occasion is the inauguration of the new complex of Sharad Pawar Centre for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence.
The centre is a part of the Vidya Pratishthan founded by Pawar.
Among those who would be present include Pawar’s daughter and NCP (SP) Working President Supriya Sule, who is the Baramati MP, his nephew and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is the NCP President and the latter’s wife and Rajya Sabha member Sunetra Pawar - who all are trustees of the Vidya Pratishthan.
Besides, Vidya Pratisthan’s Treasurer Yugendra Pawar will also be present.
The presence of Adani and the Pawar family patriarch — who enjoy good relations over decades — comes at a time when the Congress is repeatedly mounting attacks on the businessman for his closeness to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It may be mentioned, Adani had visited Baramati, a modern and ideal tehsil-town several times.
In June 2022, Adani and his wife Priti Adani had visited Baramati for the inauguration of the Rajiv Gandhi Science and Innovation and Activity Centre established by the Baramati Agricultural Trust with help from the Maharashtra government.
