Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan faced a horrifying attack by an unknown assailant at his home in the early hours of Thursday. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital post this deadly attack.

As per a statement by the hospital’s CEO, Saif was admitted between 03:00 and 03:30 am with six injuries, with one of the injuries being very close to his spine.

The actor lives on the 12th floor of Satguru Sharan apartments in Bandra. As per the sources, the intruder used the staircase to escape after the attack.

According to multiple reports, Saif was rushed to the hospital in a rickshaw by his son, Ibrahim Ali Khan. However, Saif’s manager has refuted this, saying that the house help accompanied him to the hospital in a rickshaw.

While the police are investigating this matter, a statement from Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan's team, read “There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in the hospital. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request the media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police is already conductingtheir due investigations. Thank you all for your concern.” (sic)

Saif was immediately rushed to the operation theatre where he underwent surgery. He is out of danger but in the ICU and is under the doctor’s observation, said a source close to the family.

Post the surgery, a statement was released from Saif Ali Khan’s side. The statement read: "Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police are investigating the incident. We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr Nitin Dange, Dr Leena Jain and the team at Lilavati Hospital. Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time.” (sic)
