Mumbai: Defending strongly the move by the Thackeray cousins, Uddhav and Raj, to bury the differences and come together in the larger interests of the state, Saamana, the mouthpiece of Shiv Sena (UBT), on Monday in its editorial said, 'If nectar comes out of poison, Maharashtra needs it'.

Besides, the Saamana said that there would not be "any issue" between Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS President Raj Thackeray if the latter keeps away from the BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

The editorials in Saamana, the Marathi daily and Dophar ka Saamana, the Hindi tabloid version, come in the backdrop of Raj’s comments during a podcast by veteran filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, and Uddhav’s response while addressing a gathering of Bharatiya Kamgar Sena, the trade wing of the party, expressing readiness to come together.

“If life is spent in arguments and fights, the future generations of Maharashtra will not forgive them,” Saamana said.

“There was no reason for the BJP, Shinde Sena to talk on this. These people started those so-called issues. So there will be no issues if the BJP and Shinde Sena are kept at a distance,” it said.

The editorial also slammed the BJP for its use and throw attitude and named Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. “What else does Maharashtra need? BJP’s politics is of the ‘use and throw’ attitude," it said.

“The news that Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray are ready to come together for the greater good of Maharashtra has created a stir in the country’s politics. While this news made many happy, many were sickened by stomach aches. Raj Thackeray’s politics so far has been a meandering one and not been very successful,” it added.
