Three-day-long meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its associate and affiliate organisations got underway in Pune on Thursday, which in the run up to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, would discuss five key issues -- environment-friendly lifestyle, life-value based family system, insistence on social harmony, swadeshi and performance of civic duties.

Issues related to the current national and social scenario, education, service, economy and national security will be discussed in the three-day meeting.

RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the meeting at Sir Parshurambhau (SP) College campus at Sadashiv Peth in Pune, the cultural capital of Maharashtra.

“The purpose of the meeting is to compile the challenges faced by the society, decide a direction and work with national spirit, so that the pace of work can increase,” a RSS spokesperson said.

The Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak (coordination meeting) was attended by the 267 office-bearers of 36 organisations inspired by RSS.

BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda also attended the deliberations.

RSS top leadership including Dr Krishna Gopal, Dr Manamohan Vaidya , Arun Kumar, Mukunda and Ramdatt Chakradhar attended the meeting.

Representatives of the Vidya Bharti, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Saksham, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Seva Bharti, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Bharatiya Janata Party, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh were present in the meeting as well.
