Under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, eligible women, aged between 21-65, with an annual family income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh are being given a help of Rs 1,500 per month. However, the family should not have any government employee or own a four-wheeler.

The Ladki Bahin Yojana was launched by the Mahayuti government in the run-up to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly polls months after the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP government was defeated in the Lok Sabha polls. The scheme has helped the BJP-led alliance in a big way in Vidhan Sabha polls.
