The house of Rejaz M Sheeba Sydeek, 26, at Edappally in Kochi was raided by a team comprising officials of the Maharashtra anti-terrorist squad late on Sunday night. The team was learnt to have seized some documents and gadgets from the house for examination.

Though the team reached the house in the morning, Rejaz's parents were not present. By evening, they reached the house, and subsequently, the police team raided the house.

Rejaz, who is a journalist and activist, was held in a hotel room in Nagpur along with a girl last week. Police accused him of being a sympathiser of Naxal outfits. A case was registered against him for various offences, including section 149 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for preparing to wage war against the government and section 192 for provocation with the intent to cause a riot.

Rejaz, along with a few others, was booked by the police in Kochi last month in connection with a protest organised against the demolition of houses of terrorists in Kashmir following the Pulwama terror strike.
