The victim was identified as Sandhya Pathak.

A resident of Nalasopara in Palghar district, she sustained critical injuries in the fall and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

No suicide note has been found so far.

An accidental death report has been filed, and further inquiry is underway, police said.

As part of the probe, officials are reviewing CCTV footage from the college campus to understand what led Sandhya to take such an extreme step.

The police will record the statements of faculty members, family and students as part of the probe.

As of now, it appears that the girl ended her life because of “personal reasons”.
