Mumbai: In the run up to the 2027 Kumbh Mela in Nashik, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said that it would be the most technologically-advanced Kumbh Mela celebrations so far in India.
Fadnavis also congratulated Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the ongoing successful Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
The Kumbh Melas are held in four places in India - Haridwar in the Ganges River in Uttarakhand, Ujjain in the Shipra River in Madhya Pradesh, Trimbakeshwar and Nashik along the Godavari River in Maharashtra and Prayagraj in the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati Rivers in Uttar Pradesh.
Fadnavis’s comments came at the NASSCOM Technology and Leadership Forum 2025 in Mumbai
“The Nashik Maha Kumbh will be 'Technological Mahakumbh’,” the BJP leader said.
“The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has handled the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh well. More than the population of Europe come to one single destination…amazing, we have seen extensive use of technology,” he said.
Fadnavis said that the Prayagraj Kumbh was spread over 15,000 hectares while the Nashik Kumbh would be spread over 250 hectares. “I have the experience of organising Kumbh Mela in 2015,” he said, adding: “The 2027 Nashik Kumbh Mela would be the technically most advanced Kumbh…pilgrims would be given an immersive experience,” he added.
