Mumbai: Amid reports of possible merger between Ajit Pawar-led NCP and NCP (SP), senior politician Sharad Pawar’s close aide Anil Deshmukh on Monday ruled out any such move or discussions.

Deshmukh said, ”There is no discussion on both the NCPs reuniting”.

The statement comes a day after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit and Sharad Pawar were present at a meeting.

"The two leaders keep meeting on different occasions on issues related to sugar and educational institutes. There has been no discussion on the two factions merging…such meetings are routine,” Deshmukh said.
