Mumbai: Amid growing demand to convene a special session to discuss the India-Pakistan tensions, Operation Sindoor and subsequent ceasefire, NCP (SP) supremo and former defence minister Sharad Pawar said that it is not possible to reveal everything in public platforms on sensitive issue.

"I am not against convening a special session... but this is a sensitive issue and it's not possible to reveal everything publicly,” said Pawar, a four-time Maharashtra Chief Minister and former Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

“However, in such cases (there is a practice) that armed forces personnel are often called to brief the opposition, but some matters remain highly confidential,” he said.

“I say that while I am not opposed to the idea of a special session, it would be better if everyone is called together and briefed properly on what has happened,” he said, indicating about an all-party meeting to discuss the issue.

However, Pawar expressed surprise over the intervention of United States President Donald Trump.

“…so far, we have never allowed any third party to interfere in our domestic issues. But this is the first time US President Donald Trump said something regarding our internal issues,” he said.
