Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: In an attack laced with sarcasm, Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council Ambadas Danve on Friday slammed the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in the state for putting up metal sheets on two sides grave of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Khuldabad and said that now only the Army was left to be brought to guard the tomb.
Danve, a leader of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), posted on X to target the BJP-led MahaYuti-NDA.
The grave, which is under control of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), is facing a threat from right-wing organisations who have demanded its razing.
"Those who came to power seeking blessings of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have 'built a fort' around the tomb of Aurangzeb who killed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj,” he said.
"A fence will also come up. Only the Army is left to be deployed," he said, adding the hashtag #ModiHaiToMumkinHai.
The administration in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district has beefed up security arrangements outside the tomb complex. Barricades have also been put up in Khuldabad.
