Mumbai: A PIL has been filed in the Bombay High Court seeking the demolition of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s grave in Khuldabad in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district and order to the Archeological Survey of India for deletion of the tomb from the list of national monuments.
The PIL has been filed by journalist-turned-activist Ketan Tirodkar.
It argues that the site does not align with Section 3 of the ASI Act, 1958, which designates certain ancient monuments and archaeological sites as being of national importance.
The court will hear the petition in due course.
