Mumbai: In a significant political development in Maharashtra, the MahaYuti-NDA dispensation has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the plot to frame Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde during the erstwhile Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
Fadnavis, the current Chief Minister. was then the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.
Shinde was then the Urban Development Minister in the MVA government.
Shinde took control of the original Shiv Sena and toppled the MVA dispensation in June 2022.
After that Shinde became the CM while Fadnavis the Deputy CM.
After the Assembly polls of 2024, Fadnavis assumed the role of CM while Shinde and NCP’s Ajit Pawar became Deputy CMs.
According to the GR issued by the Fadnavis-headed Home department, the SIT would be headed by senior IPS officer Satyanarayan Choudhary, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Mumbai Police.
The SIT includes Rajiv Jain, Deputy Inspector General of Police, State Reserve Police Force, Navnath Dhavle, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 6 and Adhikrao Pol, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mumbai City.
