Mumbai: Amid daily back-to-back videos by Kunal Kamra mocking BJP-led NDA leaders, state’s Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai came out with a strong message saying that the stand-up comedian needs to be given a “prasad.”
Desai belongs to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and is a senior functionary in the Devendra Fadnavis-led MahaYuti-NDA dispensation in Maharashtra.
On the other hand, Kamra slammed the “mainstream media” but was not specific about his outburst.
"To all those hounding for a quote - The mainstream media at this point is nothing but a miscommunication arm of the ruling party. They are vultures who report on issues that don’t matter to the people of this country. If they all shut shop from tomorrow till eternity they will be doing favour to the country, its people & their own children,” Kamra posted on X.
"We have been asked by Shinde to observe restraint, that is why we are quiet. As Shiv Sena workers, we know how to drag him out from wherever he is hiding, but as ministers we have some restrictions…We want to tell the police, do not test our patience and nab him from wherever he is, put him in a tyre and give him ‘prasad'," said Desai.
“Our Shiv Sainiks have already shown their anger by visiting the studio after his first video. Kamra's actions are deliberate,” he said, slamming the satirist.
