Mumbai: Taking adventure education ahead, the Pune-based Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering (GGIM), Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi has launched Advance Course (Diploma) in Mountaineering & Allied Sports.
Earlier it was a one year Diploma in Mountaineering and Allied Sports.
The Advance Course (Diploma) in Mountaineering and Allied Sports is a unique curriculum developed by GGIM and it is the first of its mountaineering training in India. It covers in-depth knowledge and practical training of technical mountain climbing skills, first aid, disaster management, mountain biodiversity, human physiology, fitness science, soft skills development, legal aspects, career opportunities in adventures and mountaineering fields and so on. The course is conducted by Giripremi’s highly experienced mountaineers, outdoor educators, and renowned faculty from various allied fields.
The application for new admissions will be opening from 1 July 2025. The admission will be based on Online Entrance Examination conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University and all the details of the entrance examination and circulars are made available on university website as well as GGIM website.
The programme includes high altitude training at Prestigious Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM). Participants will receive a certificate of Diploma as well as certifications of Rock Climbing Training and High Altitude Training.
