Mumbai: Hours after the Supreme Court slammed Rahul Gandhi for his comments against revolutionary freedom fighter and Hindutva icon Swantantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis hoped that the Congress leader starts respecting freedom fighters.
"The Supreme Court has given a strong rebuke to Rahul Gandhi for insulting Veer Savarkar. I thank the Supreme Court because it has continuously disrespected India's freedom fighters,” Fadnavis told reporters about the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
“I hope, Rahul Gandhi, who swears by the Constitution abides by the court orders,” said Fadnavis, referring to the pocket-sized red-colour Constitution, which the Congress leader displays in his public meetings and rallies.
