BJP-turned-Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC on Thursday lauded actor Saif Ali Khan's courage after he walked out of Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital five days after an intruder attacked him with a knife at his Bandra residence.

"Just because Saif Ali Khan walked in like a lion with a knife near his spine, and his 8-year-old son, he has proudly walked out like a tiger," Shaina said.

"Instead of being happy for him and the fact that his life got saved, I don't know what the media and certain people of the political class are doing by questioning the integrity of the police force," she continued.

"Let's talk about safety measures in this high-profile case," she further said.

Her remarks come after party member Sanjay Nirupam raised questions about Saif's quick recovery, while today BJP leader Nitesh Rane equated Saif with 'garbage' saying it was good the attacker had come to take him away.

Saif's attack had led to many in the opposition raising questions about the law and order in Maharashtra, while Sanjay Raut even called for Amit Shah to take responsibility for the 'security' breach and resign, when it turned out that an illegal Bangladeshi migrant was the perpetrator.

Saif, meanwhile, after exiting the hospital met with the autorickshaw driver who had taken him for medical care on the fateful night.

Security at his residence has been upped as well, with visuals showing CCTV cameras being installed the afternoon of his discharge. He has reportedly also sought the services of a security agency run by Ronit Roy, a former actor who has appeared in films like Student of the Year.
