Mumbai: After its success in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is gearing up for massive organisational changes in the run up to the upcoming local body elections in Maharashtra.

The Shiv Sena, which is part of the BJP-led Mahayuti-NDA ruling coalition also including the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, is focusing on extensive planning ahead of the polls.

As part of the preparations, Shinde’s son and Shiv Sena MP Dr Shrikant Shinde, who is also the Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party leader, addressed a crucial meeting of MPs, MLAs, leaders, deputy leaders, and key office bearers of the party at the Rangsharda Hall at Bandra in Mumbai.

During the meeting, Dr Shinde stressed on the importance of fortifying the party’s organisational structure ahead of the municipal elections.

“A strong organizational foundation is essential to ensure a robust performance in the upcoming polls,” he told the meeting.

With local body elections, including the pivotal Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections on the horizon, Dr Shinde outlined strategies with office bearers to enhance the party’s electoral approach.

“Let us strengthen the organisation at all levels to secure a decisive victory,” he said.

The Shiv Sena will organize a grand rally at the Bandra Kurla Complex on January 23 to commemorate the birth anniversary of late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray.

The rally will feature the felicitation of winning MLAs and MPs by Shiv Sena’s chief leader and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam shared details of the rally and hinted at imminent organisational changes, including a review and potential reshuffling of office bearers to improve efficiency.

The party will also launch a membership registration campaign in Mumbai from January 24 to February 9, aiming to achieve record membership numbers.

Prominent leaders such as MP Naresh Mhaske, MP Ravindra Waikar, former MP Gajanan Kirtikar, Rahul Shewale, Shiv Sena Social Media State Head Rahul Kanal, MLA Dr Manisha Kayande, MLA Prakash Surve, MLA Mangesh Kudalkar, MLA Murji Patel, former MLA Sada Saravankar, Meenatai Kambli, Sheetal Mhatre, and other party secretaries attended the meeting.
