Mumbai: In a strong attack on the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), the Eknath Shinde-headed Shiv Sena on Monday claimed that the former Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Man Friday Sanjay Raut has been desperately trying to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Shiv Sena deputy leader and spokesperson Sanjay Nirupam slammed Raut describing him as “Bhandup’s Bhonga” and a “bogus man”.
Nirupam criticised Raut for pretending to oppose “dictatorship” while his own party, Sena (UBT), is attempting to align with the BJP after the Assembly elections.
"He has been desperately trying to meet Modi and Shah…when Sena UBT MPs were ready to switch to the BJP, it was Uddhav Thackeray who stopped them. Their MPs were informed that talks with the BJP were in progress and that they would cross over together. But the BJP has shut its doors firmly on Sena UBT,” said Nirupam.
On the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Nirupam said: “Pakistan will have to pay a heavy price for the Pahalgam attack.”
“The government is executing a multi-pronged strategy to isolate Pakistan. Imports have been banned, water supply suspended, and maritime trade halted. The Indian Air Force is conducting war exercises, and the Indus Water Treaty has been suspended. Dams on the Chenab and Jhelum rivers are being shut down, putting Pakistan in a dilemma,” he said.
Nirupam also affirmed that the Indian Army will dismantle terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
