“I demanded that the arrests of Dalits and combing of Dalit localities be immediately stopped,” said Ambedkar.

He also appealed to the Dalit community to protest peacefully.

“If the arrests of the miscreants of the vandalism are not made by tomorrow 12 noon, I will communicate an action plan,” Ambedkar said.

Large-scale violence, arson, stone-pelting, vandalisation of public and private property were reported from the Parbhani town of Marathwada region during a bandh called on Wednesday to protest the vandalism of the replica of the Constitution placed in a glass box near a statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
