Mumbai: As the 26/11 Mumbai terror case enters a new phase with the extraction of Tahawwur Rana, the family members of victims demanded immediate punishments against one of the plotters of the case.
“He should be punished immediately,” said Eknath Omble, the brother of late Assistant Sub-Inspector Tukaram Omble, the policeman who laid down his life while capturing alive Pakistani fidayeen Mohammed Ajmal Kasab. “He should be punished severely,” he said.

Retired Inspector Hemant Bavdhankar, who along with his team took on Abu Ismail, the head of the 10-member group, said that Rana should not be spared.
"For Rana's extradition, we presented our case in the US Supreme Court, and the court accepted it. We made our case, after which the court handed Rana over to us. Every Indian will want Rana to be tried in the court here and given the strictest punishment. This will fulfill the wish of every Indian, and their wish is that he should be tried in an Indian court and get strict punishment,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Taufiq, a tea seller known as Chhotu Chaiwala, whose alertness helped a large number of people escape the attack, says “For India, there is no need to provide him with a cell. Biryani and facilities like those given to Kasab. There should be a separate law for terrorists, a system should be in place so that they are hanged within 2-3 months.
“Even though I have healed, my leg still swells up if I walk for too long. There’s still a big gash on my calf where the bullet hit me,” said Devika Rotawan, who was one of those injured in the attacks.
In fact, she had identified Kasab in the courtroom as the man who went on a shooting spree.
