Mumbai: Three persons from two families -- who had a history of feud, were killed and three others injured during a massive clash in the Dahisar suburbs of Mumbai.

The incident involved the Gupta and Shaikh families, both residents of Gully No. 14, Ganpat Patil Nagar, Dahisar West.

In 2022, the Sheikh and Gupta families had filed cross-cases against each other for physical assault. Since then, there has been ongoing enmity between the two families.

Gupta family does fruit and cocunut vending, while Shaikh family is into tailoring.

The fresh clash started around 5 pm on Sunday evening, when Hamid Sheikh, who was allegedly drunk, arrived at the coconut shop of Ram Gupta and had an altercation.

However, both of them called their sons to the spot.

Gupta, along with his sons Amar Gupta, Arvind Gupta, and Amit Gupta, and Hamid Sheikh, along with his sons Armaan Sheikh and Hasan Sheikh, engaged in a war of words which escalated to the level of physical fight and then use of weapons.

During the fight, Ram Gupta and his son Arvind Gupta died, while Amar Gupta and Amit Gupta were injured; Hamid Sheikh and his sons Armaan Sheikh and Hasan Sheikh were also injured.

The two sides used knives and koyatas during the fight.

The bodies have been transferred to Shatabdi Hospital for post-mortem.

The MHB police station has registered an FIR and investigations are in progress while the local Crime Branch unit too is assisting the probe team.
