Mumbai: Troubles seems to be compounded for Kunal Kamra as the Maharashtra Legislative Council has accepted the Breach of Privilege notice against the stand-up comedian filed during the recently-concluded budget session of the State Legislature for his traitor jibe aimed at Shiv Sena chief leader and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
On the last day of the Budget session, the Breach of Privilege notice was moved by Shiv Sena MLA Ramesh Bornare in the Assembly and by BJP MLC Pravin Darekar in the Council.
Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar and Legislative Council Chairperson Prof Ram Shinde were to take a call on the notices.
“I have accepted the notice of breach of privilege against Kunal Kamra and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare and have sent it to Privilege Committee Chairman Prasad Lad. The future course of action regarding the motion will be decided by the committee,” said Prof Shinde.
Lad will now review the notice along with other committee members. As per the Legislative Council rules, if the committee finds merit in the complaint, the motion may be brought for discussion in the House.
