Mumbai: A day after Anandraj Ambedkar tied up with Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi slammed the Republican Party founder for compromising with the ideology of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of Constitution of India.
“The decision is now up to the ideologues of Phule-Shahu-Ambedkar – whether they want to stand with a puppet of RSS-BJP, whose core ideology is to replace the Babasaheb’s Constitution with Manusmriti, or stand with someone whose ideology is to uphold and defend the Constitution,” the VBA said.
“The Republican Sena's alliance with the BJP's ally, the Shiv Sena, is not only against the movement's fight against the BJP and its allies to save the Constitution, but also against the ideology and ideologues of Phule, Shahu, and Ambedkar. To say that we are disappointed with Anandraj Ambedkar's decision would be an understatement,” the VBA said in a statement.
“We wonder if Anandraj Ambedkar has allied with the BJP's ally Shiv Sena for power or has been employed to play a stooge of the RSS-BJP and whitewash their crimes and agendas against the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minorities, particularly the Buddhists and Muslims! If he has been employed to play the stooge of the RSS-BJP, we wonder what the financial exchange must have been? Remind you this is the same Mahayuti administration, which has brought the Jan Suraksha Bill - a weapon to criminalise and silence dissenting Dalits, Adivasis, and Muslims under the guise of Urban Naxalism. This is the same Mahayuti administration that protested against the release of the film Phule, based on the lives and struggles of Mahatma Jotiba Phule and Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule,” the three-page statement reads.
“This is the same RSS-BJP, which the Buddhists, in India and abroad, are fighting against to liberate the Mahabodhi Mahavihara. This is the same RSS-BJP, whose core ideology is against the Constitution of India, the social and religious fabric of India, and the minorities, particularly the Buddhists and Muslims. It is essential to remind the people of Maharashtra to reiterate that Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi fought and is fighting against these nefarious and evil designs of the RSS-BJP and Maha Yuti,” it added.
