Covid-19 cases continued to surge in the financial capital as the city reported over 5,000 new Covid-19 cases for the third day in a row.

Mumbai on Friday reported 5,513 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total number of cases to 3,85,628. It also reported nine deaths.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 36,902 new Covid-19 positive cases, taking the active cases tally to 2,82,451.

The state saw 17,019 persons recover from the virus, while 112 died due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
