Lashing out at the BJP for questioning her religion, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that she does not need any lecture on communal harmony from the saffron party.

"They (the BJP) question my religion. I want to make it clear to them that my religion is humanity and I don't need any lecturer from them on communal harmony," Mamata said while she was addressing the gathering at a cultural program in the city.

Pointing out that the BJP has often accused her of obstructing the Durga Puja in Bengal the chief minister said, "they should first see how many temples have been constructed under the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal."

The ruling party at the Centre had earlier raised questions about the chief minister's religion and accused her of indulging in appeasement politics.
