Miffed with rumours about a Bengali movie being her biopic, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday threatened to file a defamation against those who are making such false claims. The movie, titled 'Baghini- Bengal Tigress' depicts the struggle and rise of an ordinary girl to the position of a Chief Minister.
"What is all this nonsense being spread! I have nothing to do at all with any biopic. If some young people have collected stories & expressed themselves, that's up to them
Not related to us. I am not Narendra Modi. Please do not compel me to file for defamation by spreading lies," tweeted Banerjee.
BJP has already written to the Election Commission ( EC) to review the movie in the same way it had done in case of a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The movie has some similarities with Banerjee's life, who ousted the Left Front from power in West Bengal in 2011 after they ruled the state for 34 years.
