According to TV reports, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee's aide Shibaji Panja was detained at the Kolkata Airport on Saturday night while he was returning from Dhaka.
Panja, who is a film producer and industrialist, has been charged with economic fraud in Delhi.
He was arrested at the immigration at the NSC Bose International Airport while he was returning from Dhaka with Mamta.
A senior official of the Bidhan Nagar Commissionerate said that the Delhi police had issued a lookout notice for Panja on Feb 19 in connection with a fraud case.
However, the details of the case has not been disclosed yet. The Delhi police is on the way to Kolkata to question Panja.
Panja had co-produced the detective film 'Byomkesh Bakshi' in 2010.
