Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced the rollout of a programme to identify budding sportspersons and groom them by providing adequate training.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will launch a sports talent search web portal on Monday for the implementation of the programme, he said during his Mann Ki Baat monthly radio address.
“Any talented child who has an achievement in sports can upload his bio data or video on this portal. The Ministry of Sports will impart training to the selected emerging players,” he said. The prime minister appealed to youngsters to come out of their world of online games and play cricket and other outdoor games.
