Immediately after the incident, the Special Operation Group of the state police launched a massive combing operation in the area and destroyed a Naxal camp inside the forest near the place of the incident. However, the Maoists managed to flee from the area.
Just 24 hours before the incident, BJP leader L K Advani’s anti-corruption yatra had passed through the route.
