Karnataka BJP MP Shivakumar Udasi alleged in the Lok Sabha that the Shiv Sena is trying to rake up border issues to divert the attention of the people of Maharashtra in order to cover up the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government's failure in administration in the state.

Belgaum issue was settled long back as Mahajan report was final in that matter. By raising the border issue, Shiv Sena is trying to create tensions among people residing in border villages, Udasi said.

Udasi was countering Sena MP Arvind Sawant, who during the Zero Hour alleged that Shiv Sena leaders were attacked by pro-Kannada activists in Belgaum.

Sawant alleged that Marathi-speaking people in Karwar and Belagavi region were under threat from pro-Kannada activists.

Sawant's remarks evoked a strong response from BJP MPs from Karnataka who got up from their seats and started protesting.

Countering Sawant, Udasi said the Shiv Sena compromised its Hindutva ideology for the sake of power and now its MPs raising the issue to distract the attention of Maharashtra people from his party's misrule in the state.
