He was 83 and survived by four Sons and three daughters, family sources said.
Former president of Kottayam district Congress Committee, Mathew, popularly known as Pala K M Mathew, was editor of Malayala Manorama for the last 15 years.
Author of over 20 books on children's literature, Mathew was director of Balasahitya Institute.
He also served as vice-chairman of Kerala Khadi Gramodyoga Bhavan and director of Bala Sahitya Institute.
The body will be laid to rest at the Loordh Church here tomorrow afternoon.
