The Supreme Court has dismissed a curative petition filed by an NGO, 'Campaign for Judicial Accountability and Reforms', against the imposition of Rs 25 lakh as cost and rejection of its plea for a SIT probe into a CBI FIR into the medical college scam.
A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Madan B Lokur, A K Sikri and Abhay Manohar Sapre said no case is made out within the parameters to consider the curative petitions.
The top court had on July 18 dismissed a plea to review its judgement delivered on December 1, 2017.
The curative, as well as the review petitions, are considered in chamber of judges as per the Supreme Court Rules.
The court had found a plea for investigation into the scam as contemptuous and scandalous.
In its judgement, the top court had said the CBI was investigating the matter that is good enough and no judge of the apex court has been named in the FIR. Former Orissa HC judge I M Quddusi, among others, arrested in the medical college bribery case was granted bail.
