Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of indulging in politics over the blood of jawans West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that he is a shame for the post of Prime Minister. Banerjee also said that she is fully with the people but against Modi.
“We are for the people but against Modi babu. Modi babu is a shame for the post of the Prime Minister,” said Banerjee. She was speaking to reporters at the State Secretariat.
The Chief Minister also accused a section of the media of supporting the Prime Minister and said that as a result people are being prevented from knowing the truth.
“The national channels which are supporting him, perhaps they are victims of circumstances, but I am sorry to say that people of the country are not getting to know the truth. Such role of the media is not appropriate for a democracy,” said Banerjee.
Reiterating her questions over the terror attack on CRPF jawans in Kashmir the Chief Minister said she will raise the questions even if he is punished for doing so.
“Even if I am punished I don’t care. As a citizen, I have the right to speak. Why the Pulwama incident took place? Why so many jawans died? Why politics is being done over the blood of jawans? Why there was no effort to save their lives despite having intelligence reports? Who is responsible?” asked Banerjee.
She also said that she condemns those who indulge in politics over the blood of jawans.
“It can’t be allowed to happen that one will wing elections by indulging in politics over the blood of jawans. Jawans work for the country. They never get involved in politics. I condemn those who are indulging in politics over the blood of jawans. We are for the armed forces and for the people but against Modi and BJP,” said Banerjee.
She further alleged that Modi and Amit Shah have turned BJP into a “private company.”
“Whoever is criticising them (BJP) is being labelled as Pakistani and anti-national,” said Banerjee.
