With the pattern beginning with his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the SCO Summit in Tianjin, the leaders captured the global spotlight. The world grew curious about the 'car diplomacy' move, as it continued to be seen in Modi's visits to Jordan and Ethiopia.
In Tianjin, as Putin revealed to India Today in a recent interview, that the car ride in Tianjin was his idea as a symbol of friendship.

Modi arrived in Jordan's capital, Amman, on Monday on a two-day visit at the invitation of King Abdullah II on Tuesday.
Jordanian Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II personally drove him to the Jordan Museum, in a special gesture reflecting the warmth of ties between India and the Arab nation.
The Prime Minister said he has "interacted extensively" with the Crown Prince and "his passion towards Jordan’s progress is clearly visible".

Ethiopian leader Abiy Ahmed Ali personally welcomed Modi and drove him to his hotel. Ali also took his Indian counterpart to the Science Museum and Friendship Park, which many report was not in the schedule.
"Honoured by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali’s gesture of welcoming me at the airport. Ethiopia is a nation with a great history and a vibrant culture. India and Ethiopia share deep civilisational ties…" wrote PM Modi on his X account.

During the Russian President's two-day visit to Delhi, in early December, Modi broke protocol to personally welcome Putin at Palam airport in Delhi. They were seen leaving in a white Toyota Fortuner to 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, for a dinner hosted by Modi.
He welcomed the Russian leader to the country, as one of the most awaited bilateral talks commenced.
