Heavy rain lashed Mumbai and its suburbs on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday, partially affecting road and rail traffic.

Delay in arrivals and departure was reported from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, one of the busiest airports in the country.

The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coastal Konkan belt for the next five days. At Prabhadevi, four people were injured when a slab collapsed.

The Central Railway's suburban services were reported to be delayed by 15 minutes because of waterlogging on tracks between Sion and Matunga stations.

Waterlogging was reported in the central Mumbai areas of Sion, King's Circle, Parel and Hindmata. People were seen wading through knee-deep waters.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region recorded an average of 35 to 40 mm rainfall.
