Special Judge O P Saini directed to take Morani into custody after pronouncing the order on his application.

Morani, 52, is the latest in the ever-growing list of VIPs including five top corporate officials, who have been arrested and sent to jail in the 2G spectrum scam.

Morani’s Cineyug Film is alleged to have played a role in routing of Rs 200 crore to Kalaignar TV which was owned by Kanimozhi and DMK Chief M Karunanidhi’s wife Dayalu, having 20 and 60 per cent shares respectively.

The Judge also deplored the conduct of Morani saying that he made all possible efforts to delay the proceedings in the case.

The Court rejected his plea to remain enlarged on bail, taking consideration of the crime, nature and enormity of allegations, besides the evidence and the apprehension that the witnesses may be influenced.
