Senior MPs from across the political parties have demanded that the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) give fresh opportunities to those students who have suffered from sudden changes in the pattern of Civil Services exams during 2011-2015.
In a statement, K C Tyagi (JDU), Shanta Kumar, Vishnu Dayal Ram (BJP), D P Tripathi (NCP) and others have alleged that changes made those students suffer who were from rural areas and wrote their exams in Indian languages.
The statement says that this was the period when the UPSC made regular and sudden changes and gave little time to prepare. They said that these changes were “discriminatory” in nature.
The MPs quoted the Nigvekar Committee report to allege that the CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) was discriminatory. They have said that Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has also ruled that the CSAT pattern caused “imbalance” and “discrimination” among students.
