Mumbai bans sale of liquor as coronavirus cases rise

Considering the rising cases of coronavirus in Mumbai, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has decided to close the sale of liquor in the city.

The administratiom has banned operations of all non-essential shops, including standalone liquor outlets.

As cases of coronavirus crossed 15000-mark in Maharashtra on Tuesday, a circular has been issued stating the new directives. "Only the groceries and medical store/chemist shops will be allowed to open," the circular stated.
