Mumbai witnesses biggest jump in number of coronavirus casualties

India's financial capital recorded 16 coronavirus deaths on Sunday, the highest in a day so far even as Maharashtra's toll shot up to 149.

The state's tally of positive cases is 1,982.

A total of 221 fresh cases were recorded on Sunday.

So far, 217 patients have recovered and were discharged.
