Jagdeep Dhankhar, who had stepped down as the Vice President of India in a surprising move, made his first public appearance after the resignation.

He attended the launch of the book, ‘Hum Aur Yah Vishva,’ written by RSS All India Executive Member Manmohan Vaidya, in Bhopal.

The former Vice President delivered a speech, while addressing a gathering, in which he stated the importance of a person's responsibilities or duties, even in tough times, and keeping aside their personal constraints. However, it is one of his cryptic comments citing his recent past that caught the maximum attention.

"Main flight pakadne ki chinta se apne kartavya ko nahin chhod sakta (I can't leave my duties for the sake of catching my flight). My recent past is proof of it," he said right after someone came up on the stage to remind him about catching his flight back to Delhi, during his speech.

He also said that it is very difficult to get out of the "chakravyuh of narratives”, while adding that he was not giving his own example. "Bhagwan kare ki koi narrative ke chakkar mein na fas jaye, iss chakravyuh mein koi fass gaya toh nikalna bada mushkil hai (I wish no one gets trapped in the cycle of narratives. It is very hard to get out of it). I am not giving my example," he said .

Dhankhar had resigned as the Vice President on July 21, citing health reasons. His sudden resignation had raised many eyebrows.
