Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday laid foundation for the temporary Secretariat complex at Velagapudi village in Amaravati in Guntur district making it the first ever structure to be built in the 33,000-acre land.
The state government is expected to start functioning from this structure from June 15 onwards.
The temporary secretariat-work space for over 18,000 government employees and 65 HoDs, legislative assembly and legislative council will be built at a cost of Rs 180 cr in a 45-acre plot. The temporary secretariat will be converted into a commercial complex after the Singapore plan is implemented in totality. The complex, spread across six blocks with a total plinth area of 24 lakh sq feet, will be completed in a record four months.
