Amid the ongoing logjam in Parliament, a resolution saluting the valour of the armed forces was passed at the NDA parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Home Minister Amit Shah also came under praise. PM Modi said Shah has been hardworking and is the longest-serving home minister after former deputy prime minister LK Advani. “It is just the beginning,” Modi said, indicating that there is a long way to go for Shah in the office.
Leaders welcomed the PM to the chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and passed a resolution on the success of both Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. The meeting also expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the terrorist attack.
“Their courage highlights their unflinching devotion to protecting our nation. We pay our deepest condolences and respect to those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack,” the resolution said. The resolution also thanked Modi for his “unwavering resolve, visionary statesmanship and resolute command” during the entire episode.
EAM S Jaishankar sent out a tweet detailing key points of the resolution. “First, if there is a terrorist attack on India, a fitting reply will be given. We will give a befitting response on our terms only. We will take strict action at every place from where the roots of terrorism emerge. Secondly, India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail. India will strike precisely and decisively at the terrorist hideouts developing under the cover of nuclear blackmail.”
