Ahead of the by-election to Rajinder Nagar assembly seat in Delhi, five Congress leaders joined the Aam Aadmi Party here on Saturday.
Sandeep Tanwar, who had contested the assembly polls in 2015 and 2020 from Delhi Cantonment seat on the Congress ticket, was inducted into the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of its senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and party candidate for the Rajinder Nagar by-polls Durgesh Pathak.
Former Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee member Rajkumar Sharma, Youth Congress Committee office bearers of Karolbagh district Suryansh Tanwar and Rajneesh Tanwar as well as Dinesh Nirman are the four other leaders who were inducted into the AAP, the party said.

Russian forces Saturday announced a latest successful test of their Zircon hypersonic cruise missile as Moscow steps up its Ukraine offensive.
The missile was fired from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate stationed in the Barents Sea and "successfully hit" a target stationed 1,000 kilometres (625 miles) away in the White Sea in the Arctic, the defence ministry said.

The Pakistan Army on Saturday observed the 24th anniversary of the country's nuclear tests and said it established a “credible minimum nuclear deterrence” and restored the "balance of power" in the region.
Both the Pakistan Army and Foreign Office issued separate statements to mark the 24th anniversary of the May 28, 1998 nuclear tests, codenamed 'Yaum-e-Takbeer' (The day of greatness).
Pakistan carried out the tests after India conducted a series of five nuclear test explosions at Pokhran in May, 1998.
“Pakistan established credible minimum nuclear deterrence, restoring balance of power in the region,” the Pakistan Army said in a statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will tour Gujarat today during which he will visit a newly-built hospital, address a seminar of leaders of various cooperative institutions and inaugurate a Nano Urea (liquid) plant, his office said.
Around 10 am today, he will visit the newly built Matushri K D P Multispeciality Hospital at Atkot in Rajkot, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. This will be followed by his address at a public function at the venue. -PTI
