Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha and host of popular podcast 'People By WTF' created a buzz on social media with the teaser for his next episode.
On Wednesday, Kamath shared a short clip of him speaking in Hindi with a mystery guest and reminiscing about their last meeting at a startup conference in Bengaluru. Social media users were quick to speculate that the mystery guest might be Prime Minister Narendra Modi based on subtle clues in the clip, including the guest's laughter style.
The teaser video was posted by Kamath without any caption and has garnered over 5 lakh views on X.
"You might not remember, but this happened a few years ago when you visited Bengaluru to meet people from the startup (ecosystem). Your last meeting of the night was with us. Even then, I was the one asking you questions, as you sat with us for an hour," Kamath said in the promo.
If the speculation is true, this would be the first time that PM Modi will be on a podcast. PM Modi hosts 'Mann Ki Baat' and has appeared on a number of television interviews but never in a podcast.
In 2023 Nikhil and his brother Nithin Kamath met PM Modi in Bengaluru during the inauguration of the 14th Aero India. PM Modi met several startup leaders. Nikhil shared a photo on X and thanked the PM for spending time with them, recalling it as a "fanboy" moment.
Nikhil and his brother have subsequently attended a number of events with the PM Modi, including Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit and Modi's visit to the White House, adding to the chatter about their connection and the potential guest appearance.
The promo has sparked widespread debate on social media, while some commented n the unusual collaboration others saw the potential of the new medium. Users hope that episode will address tough questions about the current situation in the country and avenues for future growth.
