Kumar said the JD(U)’s alliance with the BJP was limited to Bihar and Jharkhand. “We don’t have any tie-up with the BJP in Gujarat, and as such our presence there is unsolicited,” Kumar said.

Nitish’s statement comes a day after JD(U) president Sharad Yadav made fun of  Modi’s upwaas (fast) saying it was a  “season of fast”.

To a specific query, whether he was miffed with Narendra Modi since the latter might be projected as a prime-ministerial candidate during 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Nitish said: “The BJP has not named its PM candidate. So it’s not proper for me to react on speculative media reports.”
